High Bridge Pilates is co-owned by Alexandra Trifonova and Gisela Perez. We are a team of dedicated Pilates professionals who’s teaching methods help to optimize your body’s movements and overall functionality. Both completed our teacher training through Pilates Chicago and are certified through the Pilates Method Alliance PMA.
WHY HIGH BRIDGE PILATES
In our fully equipped studio, we offer Private and Semi-Private Sessions on all of the equipment designed by Joseph Pilates as well as Group Apparatus (Reformer, Wunda Chair, Towers, and Barrels) Classes and Mat Classes. Whether you are an athlete or are recovering from an injury, (hip, knee, back) are prenatal or postnatal each private session is tailored to your specific needs.

Everyone can benefit from Pilates regardless of age, level of fitness or experience. We offer fitness training but not in the traditional sense. We view your body as a dynamic, interdependent system. Our highly‐trained instructors assess your needs and structure a personalized program to advance your fitness level and address your specific situation.
PILATES FOR INJURIES
It has been proven that Pilates for rehabilitation works. Pilates is used as an effective program to improve strength, flexibility, range of motion, balance, and stability after suffering an injury or while suffering from a chronic disorder. Other conditions Pilates can treat or minimize include backache, neck pain, and osteoporosis, osteopenia. Our Pilates instructors will modify the full range of exercises tailored to your individual needs.
PILATES FOR SCOLIOSIS
Through the principles of Pilates, which focus on alignment, flexibility, lengthening and strengthening of the muscles provides the core stability to strengthen the muscles of the trunk.
PILATES FOR PREGNANCY AND POSTNATAL
We are proudly certified through Carolyn Anthony’s Center for Women’s Fitness in Pelvic Floor, Pre & Post Natal as well as Diastasis Recti. Pilates is a safe and effective way to continue to exercise throughout your pregnancy.

My name is Gisela Pérez. I have been teaching Pilates since 2015. I am a National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP) certified teacher and completed a 620 teacher training program through Pilates Chicago. I have also completed several continuing education courses such as Pilates for Neurological Conditions, Cadaver Lab, Anatomy Trains as well as Pelvic Floor and Pre/Post Natal Pilates through the Center for Women's Fitness. I have experience working with clients that have scoliosis, shoulder and knee injuries, pre and post surgery, pre and post natal as well marathoners and athletes. I am passionate about the work that I do and love to see my clients succeed in their goals.
My own journey began just over 15 years ago after the birth of my second child. It took me a few years to fully appreciate what Pilates has to offer and now I am fortunate to be able to share this passion with others. I live in the West Ridge neighborhood with my husband and 4 children.
Rebecca is certified Pilates Instructor and theatre performer in Chicago. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BFA in musical theatre and received her Pilates certification from Pilates Academy International at Pilates On Fifth (NYC) in 2016. She is also trained in sports injury rehabilitation. As a dancer, Pilates has always been a part of her life; however, it was the changes she witnessed in her own clients' bodies that made her a Pilates believer. She is fascinated by how the Pilates method improves strength, flexibility, and postures, while reducing pain in the body. Rebecca's workouts are shame-free, fun, challenging, and aims for clients to feel great in their own bodies!
Alexandra was born in Bulgaria, where she was a gymnast for many years and that lead her body to multiple injuries and misalignments especially after the birth of her child. She experienced Pilates after a chiropractor suggested it is as a way for her body to get stronger and better aligned. After a few sessions she saw the incredible benefits of the exercises and quickly decided to enter the Comprehensive Instructor training program at Pilates Chicago. Soon after completing it, she was certified by National Pilates Certification Program(NPCP). Alexandra has completed continuing education workshops with pilates teachers Madeline Black, Cara Reeser and Carolyne Anthony. She is Pre and Post Natal and Diastasis Recti certified through Carolyne Anthony’s Center for Women’s Fitness.
Matthew has been teaching Pilates in chicago since 1998. For over 20 years he has taught to a very wide population. Having this experience has made him an extremely astute teacher. Therefore being able to cater to everyone’s needs. He has run teacher trainings , Pilates retreats , and has had the honor to have had numerous feature articles in fitness magazines. “I am extremely excited and honored to be here at High Bridge Pilates”
Julie is of Korean descent and currently lives in Chicago, and was introduced to Pilates when she lived in China. Julie learned that Pilates could improve not only the health but also the quality of life for the less privileged who resided in terrible conditions. Julie’s interest has always been about people she can help through the Pilates Method. She realized that Pilates can be a great tool to help people feel better about their bodies and their lives all over the world.
When Julie relocated to Chicago, she entered the Comprehensive Pilates training program at Pilates Chicago and poured her energy into learning all aspects of the Pilates Method. Shortly after finishing her 600 hour training program, she completed her National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP) Certification.
Julie is also certified in Pre and Post Natal Pilates through Carolyne Anthonys Center for Womens Fitness.
Julie loves to share the benefits of Pilates and then watch a client’s body learn and move better!
Mary Kate Young
Mary Kate studied theatre and dance at Ball State University and moved to Chicago in 2014. She fell in love with Pilates when she started private sessions with Gisela Pérez, co-owner of High Bridge Pilates. She been exploring the benefits of Pilates on her own physical and mental health for years now and loves to share those benefits with others. She received her Pilates Mat Instructor certification through Pilates Chicago and she is excited to teach with the rockstar team at High Bridge Pilates. She will be using her knowledge of The Mat Series, as well as her skills as a dancer and performer, to provide classes that are energetic, accessible, and challenging for all skill levels.
